Was it just me, or did our most recent conference in Scottsdale feel, dare I say it, almost normal? I mean, the sun was shining, the palms were swaying, and the beer burro was melting hearts.
We've said it before, and I'm going to say it again, but THANK YOU!! This conference was our largest, biggest, and bestest. That is not a typo. It had an even greater attendance than our 2021 Fall Due Diligence Conference last year in Denver. The FactRight staff cannot be more grateful for your support and appreciate all the positive feedback we received from so many.
Here are some highlights from last week!
- Over 320 very intelligent and experienced professionals descended upon the Scottsdale Plaza. Most flew, some drove, and one sponsor literally walked up the street. P.S. If anyone knows how to describe our business at a cocktail party to people who've never heard of a DST, please let me know.
- Russell Putnam, aka Mr. Monopoly, welcomed us all and started the Factopoly game. How much does he love and commit to our conferences? Russ purchased a top hat and tailcoat specifically for the opening. FactRight likes to be sustainable, so please suggest themes for FactRight's 2022 Annual Due Diligence Conference in August that would let him wear them again. Downton Abbey? Annie? Tap dancing?
- Kudos to Mark Creason for being the first to complete a color and get a Yeti mug. And a huge congratulations to Kyle Kadish, Ilonka Nobles, and Mark Creason, (double winner!) who won the drawing for the three pairs of Bose Bluetooth sunglasses.
- Next up, Jake Heidkamp gave us his update on market conditions, which set an excellent foundation for our following presentations. Sign up to request Jake's Weekly Updates straight to your inbox here.
- Thank you to the panel moderators and participants. The insights you added on the array of topics were thoughtful and fascinating. We'd like to recognize and thank our guest moderator Anya Coverman, SVP of Government Affairs and General Counsel of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA), and her panelists for their discussion on legislative and regulatory policy issues wealth managers and sponsors need to know. Additionally, a huge thank you goes out to FactRight's Chief Executive Officer, Gail Schneck, for leading the conversation on tax advantage programs with some of the industry's key players.
- Happy hours in the beautiful courtyard featured a hot sauce tasting, a tequila tasting, a whiskey tasting, and the Beer Burro! It was cute, it had a little sombrero, and I saw it melt the hearts of our many wealth managers in attendance, resulting in nothing but smiles and selfies.
- In summary, we had:
- 120 wealth managers
- 25 industry participants
- 24 sponsor presentations
- 18 exhibit sponsors
- 3 technology platform presentations
- 2 educational panels
- 2 cocktail receptions
- 1 networking EXTRAVAGANZA
While our time in Scottsdale has ended, we want to assure you our due diligence support is always at your fingertips. If you have any questions regarding information covered at the conference or any other due diligence inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out to FactRight's team of analysts. Until next time, thanks again to all who participated, and be sure to check out the resources below, available to you at www.factright.com.
What's to come? We hope to see you all (and more!) for our FactRight's 2022 Annual Due Diligence Conference, coming this August 24 - 26 in Nashville, Tennessee.
